An interview with Jessica LaFond, Chief Engineer for Pacifica at FCA revealed that the 2016 model has been re-engineered from the ground up. It’s an all new platform that increases the overall body torsional stiffness by over 88% which improves the ride and handling and which makes the vehicle very quiet. It has a spacious interior that has room to seat 8 comfortably. The gas version coupled with a nine-speed transmission, has increased fuel efficiency and the hybrid model will offer 30 miles of pure electric range which is significant. This van has best-in-class horsepower and fuel economy. The Pacifica replaces the Town and Country and it is a new van with a practical design that is engineered to perform.
