2018 AJAC EcoRun

12 Jul 2018 AJAC EcoRun

The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) is an association of professional journalists, writers and photographers who test-drive and report on new vehicles. Vehicles are driven on real-world road conditions with the objective to provide consumers with sound, unbiased data regarding fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions. The 2018 AJAC EcoRun was the seventh year of the event and over the course of two days, all the journalists each drove six different cars while they explored the beautiful landscape of New Brunswick. The event showcased vehicles from 14 different auto-makers and they included pure electrics, plug-in and hybrids, hydrogen fuel cells, diesel-fuelled and highly-efficient gasoline options. At the end of the end of the second day, 90% of the entries achieved better mileage than those posted by NRCan (Natural Resources Canada). The annual EcoRun not only informed consumers about real-world results, the journalists also gave tips on sensible driving, a major factor to consider for fuel economy.
