Driving Innovation – Nissan’s Door-Durability Robot

27 Dec Driving Innovation – Nissan’s Door-Durability Robot

At Nissan Technical Center North America in Michigan, durability is a core principal and vehicles are engineered and tested to withstand tough duty cycles. With the average car door taking a beating on a daily basis, Mrs Doorboto, also known as Rosie, knows that life can be hard on doors. She is a 1.5-ton door-durability robot whose job is to open and close doors as often as a typical customer would in ten years and she does it all in three days without the need of a coffee break. Thanks to Rosie, top quality and durability is standard for Nissan customers.
