25 May The Green Road – Toyota’s electrified vehicle strategy
Keeping the environment in mind, Toyota’s strategy to promote the widespread use of electrified vehicles includes the development of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electrics (PHEVs), battery electrics (BEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). By 2025, every model in the Toyota and Lexus line-up will be available with an electrified option or as a fully electric model. To get there, the HEV lineup will grow. The PHEV lineup will also be expanded in the 2020s and by the early 2020s, 10 BEV models will be available starting in China with the gradual introduction to the rest of the world. By 2030, Toyota aims to sell more than 5.5 million electrified vehicles which the company believes will contribute to realizing a sustainable society.
